Bhopal: What stops the investigators from questioning former chief minister Uma Bharti even though her name figures in connection with the Vyapam scam?

And, why Prem Prasad, the former personal secretary of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, was not grilled despite his being an accused.

These questions came to fore when former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh arrived in Bhopal to meet CBI officials on Friday, and later spoke to journalists about the Vyapam scam probe.

It is noteworthy that Prem Prasad was booked for getting his daughter admission in MBBS through tampering the OMR sheet. But he has not been interrogated as yet.

The AICC general secretary said that the special task force (STF) had totally messed up with investigation in the Vyapam case.

"The documents STF had, showed involvement of Uma Bharti, Gulab Singh Kirar and Prem Prasad but they have not been questioned", Digvijaya was quoted in local Hindi newspaper Nai Dunia.

Singh asked why the investigation is not being pursued properly just like Haryana where chief minister Omprakash Chautala was questioned and arrested in teachers' recruitment scam.

The senior Congress leader raised many questions about the handling of the Vyapam scam. Talking to journalists, he said that the students who were booked in the scam should be made approvers and witnesses. Singh met CBI officials in Bhopal after arriving here from Ujjain.
