Unemployed youth stage demonstration in Bhopal, get cane-charged, many injured

BHOPAL: Hundreds of youth who had gathered in the city from all over the state, were stopped and faced cane-charge in Bhopal on Wednesday.
They wanted to march towards Roshanpura Square. However, the administration didn't allow them.
In fact, they were stopped near PHQ. As they began raising slogans, the policemen hit them with lathis.
The youth had come from different parts of the state and after arriving at Neelam Park, decided to walk towards Roshanpura, the main traffic intersection of the State capital. The youth were upset that the recruitment examinations were not taking place in Madhya Pradesh. Movement Against Unemployment's Parul Sharma told media that 25 youths were injured in the assault.
The youth also rued that as exams were not taking place for years, they have bcome over-age and the age criterion should be relaxed. They said that posts are vacant but not being filled by government. The police dispersed them with cane-charge and later took them away in police bus.
Besides, women who were selected as teachers in the past, also staged a demonstration. These women weached BJP office to protest. They said that even after selection, they were not being given appointment or joining letter. Dressed in yellow, thousands of women, who were carrying 'rakhi' arrived in Bhopal.
The women said that they were running from pillar to post, but got just assurance, not joining letter despite selection. They also said that the state government should make public the names of those it claims to have given jobs. The officials told them that it was a violation of Coronavirus guidelines. Around 1,500 unnamed protesters were booked later.
