'Give top priority to quality and timely completion of construction works', says Chouhan

BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Jal Jeevan Mission in Satna district and all other construction works going on in the district should be given top priority in terms of quality and completion within the time-limit.
Action must be ensured against the negligent and those engaged in irregularities. It should be ensured that ration is available uninterruptedly in the right quantity to all the eligible persons. An FIR should be lodged against those who indulge in corruption and those who create obstacles in providing benefits of government schemes without any hassles to the general public.
Chouhan was virtually reviewing the government schemes, construction works and law and order situation in the district. Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare (Independent Charge) Ramkhelavan Patel was present in the review meeting held from the residence office.
Chief Minister said that the officials should visit the rural areas regularly and ensure regular review of the progress of the houses being built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Expressing displeasure over the slow progress in street vendor schemes, Chief Minister gave instructions to give wide publicity to the scheme and to connect more and more people with the schemes. The Chief Minister said that while ensuring public participation in Amrit Sarovar Yojana, adequate beautification should be ensured around the lake.
Commissioner and Collector should personally monitor the progress of the works to complete the development works within the time limit. Chief Minister Chouhan instructed to speed up the restoration work of the roads of Satna Nagar. He said that the officers-employees and public representatives of the district administration should work with team spirit to make Satna a model district in the state.
Chouhan said that complaints of sale of illicit liquor in the rural areas of Satna district are being received. Strict action should be taken in these cases. Take stern action against the persons involved in illegal and anti-social activities. Along with awareness activities in the anti-drug campaign, children should be counseled by taking parents into confidence.
Also, the Chief Minister sought information about CM helpline, nutritional food distribution in Anganwadis, condition of roads, fertilizer supply, electricity system, Mukhya Mantri Bhu-Awasiya Yojana, Mukhya Mantri Udyam Kranti Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Janseva Abhiyan.
It was informed that out of 224 ongoing schemes in the district under Jal Jeevan Mission, 69 works have been completed. FIRs have been registered in seven cases of irregularities in ration distribution and 35 shops have been suspended. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 93 percent houses have been completed for the period 2016-17 to 2020-21. Out of 106 Amrit Sarovars selected in the district, the work of 38 has been completed. Amrit Sarovar has been constructed on priority in the villages of freedom fighters. Cafeteria and pathway have also been developed here.
