BHOPAL: IAS officer Ramesh Thete has written a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, accusing a senior IAS officer of casteism.

Thete, a Dalit, who is currently posted as secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development, has alleged that he is facing discrimination.

In the explosive letter, he has written that he has been made an ‘Achhoot’ and has blamed his superior, Principal secretary RS Julania for the casteist discrimination.

In the letter, Thete alleges that ‘Julania’s mind is filled with casteist garbage. “All the powers given to previous secretaries of the department have been taken away from me, except, the work of getting toilets constructed and cleaning them up…he has turned me into a sweeper”.

Reminding Chouhan about his announcement during a recent event organized by Anusuchit Jati Janjati Kalyan Sangh (AJJAKS) where CM had said that reservations for SC-STs would continue, Thete has said that it is ironical that while Chouhan talks big to get support of Dalits and Tribals but the truth is that you patronize casteist officers like Julania who harass Dalit and Tribal officers.

The letter mentions how he has been targeted and discriminated against, and has urged Chouhan to take action.Thete has warned that if the persecution doesn’t end, there will be a massive movement to end the discrimination. “No one will be able to stop the agitation and I am more than willing to pay the price for it”, he further said.
