Woman tehsildar burnt alive by man upset over officials' failure to correct mistakes in his land document

HYDERABAD: A woman tehsildar was burnt alive in Rangareddy district near Hyderabad in Telangana.

The woman, Vijaya Reddy, was set afire in her office after an argument. 

The accused--Suresh Mudiraju was upset that the officials were not making correction is his land documents.

Despite repeated pleas and a court order in his favour, the bureucrats hadn't made the corrections in his property papers. This had angered him and he went to the office at Abdullahpurmet.

Once into the tehsildar's office, he entered Reddy's chamber. He poured petrol on her and used a lighter to set her ablaze. She was alone in the chamber then. Two other employees rushed to save her but they also got burnt. 

Vijaya was later rushed to the hospital but she couldn't be saved. She died of burns. The two other persons also received burns. Suresh was caught but he had also got burn injuries and is undergoing treatment. The police are conducting a probe in this regard.
