Bhopal: A panchayat secretary who allegedly tried to claim bills for construction of toilets under the Swachh Bharat scheme by using photo-shopped images has been nailed.
The panchayat secretary Ram Subhash Singh had used photoshopped images of taps and washbasins to show the implementation though the situation on the ground was in sharp contrast.
Singh who hails from Singrauli gave documents to claim money for construction of 16 toilets in his village. Singh even got Rs 12,000 under the scheme. But the officer CEO Nidhi Nivedita detected the discrepancies.
She found that the images were morphed. Nivedita also went for inspection and found that there were no toilets. The officer asked Singh to do sit-ups.
Apart from this 'punishment', Singh's payment was also stopped and he was made to apologise in front of the entire village. Under the Swachh Bharat mission, toilets are being built all over the country.
