Bhopal: Students of schools in Madhya Pradesh might be wearing 'Khadi' uniform at least once a week from the next academic session, if a proposal mooted by minister of state for education, Deepak Joshi gets implemented.

Joshi has proposed that Khadi uniform should be introduced in the schools and students could wear it at least once or twice a week. "It would not be mandatory, but a push would be definitely given. We are hoping to implement the idea from upcoming academic session (2016-17)," Joshi told media on Friday.

The idea is to promote Khadi fabric and also to give younger generation an idea about the homespun fabric that was a national symbol during independence struggle.
