Bhopal: A railway official who said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a non-vegetarian, had to pay a price for his comment.
Brajpal Singh, station manager at Katni railway station in Madhya Pradesh, told a group of Bajrang Dal workers, that PM is a non-vegetarian and that 'he had biryani in Pakistan'.
Little did he know that the supposedly casual conversation was being recorded. The video-recording went viral soon through WhatsApp and other social media channels.
Singh has been removed from hos post. Sources say he has been demoted and further action would be taken after the inquiry report is completed. The departmental probe has begun against him.
The incident occurred when a group of Bajrang Dal workers reached his office to seek permission for holding an event at the temple on railway station premises.
In the conversation, he said that your (BJP) party has won with a huge mandate and those associated with the party should act responsibly.
But the 'non-vegetarian comment video' went viral and complaints were made to Railway ministry, Union minister and even Prime Minister.
The last month's video was circulated recently. Dilraj Singh Bagga, an ABVP activist, who tagged PMO, Railway minister and other railway officials in this video, demanded action.
The complainant wanted action against 'a public servant for criticising PM and 'accusing him of being a non-vegetarian which is objectionable'.
Subsequently, the action was taken. Brajpal Singh has been shifted from the post and sent to railway traffic wing. The probe is on.
