Bhopal: Good news is likely for MP youth looking for jobs in police department soon. The state government is considering changes in the police recruitment rules that would give priority to youngsters domiciled in the state.
Home minister Babulal Gaur told NewsBits.in that he has written to the state Director General of Police (DGP) Surendra Sinh, asking him to look into the current police recruitment rules that does not have any priority for local candidates.
“I’ve asked the DGP to find out whether changes were possible to prioritise domiciled candidates in police recruitment. Later, meetings would be conducted with the general administration department (GAD) to bring about requisite changes,” the minister said. GAD is responsible for finalizing recruitment rules in MP.
The home minister told NewsBits.in that recently, candidates had agitated during a constable recruitment process in Gwalior. Later a delegation met him and showed him copies of recruitment rules from other states like Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh where priority is given to local candidates in police recruitment.
“We do not want to violate rights of local people, so considering their demands, I have written to the DGP to look into possibility of rule amendments,” Gaur said.
Police department is one of the most sought after in state for job-hunters, but as the recruitments are open, often youth from other states get the jobs in MP police.
