Bhopal: Expectedly, prime minister Narendra Modi on Sunday lauded the arrangements and organisation of the ongoing Simhastha Kumbh in Ujjain of MP.
Speaking during his monthly 'Man ki baat' address to the nation, he especially quoted chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's name in the process.
The PM however suggested the there should be more tourism promotion for the event, which he said could be propagated as 'social congregation' instead of 'religious congregation'. He urged the central as well as state tourism departments to work towards promotion.
Modi, quoting the fact that social media was replete with photos of Simhastha being shared by common people, suggested that a photograph competition could be launched for the event.
He also said that such events could be used for promoting social concern themes like water conservation adn people's participation along with proper management and organisation was key to success.
The prime minister is expected to attend the Simhastha Kumbh on May 14, when he would address the valedictory function of a 'vaicharik mahakumbh' (philisophical mega convention) to be held at the Simhastha venue.
