'Madari Mamu' trends on Twitter after Shivraj calls self 'juggler' for bringing down power bills

BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday said that he was a 'madaari' (juggler) who has brought down the electricit bills of people to naught. 

Chouhan said this in a public meeting at Budhni in Sehore district. 

The chief minister's statement was in response to Congress criticism over his freebies ahead of the Assembly polls. 

Addressing the people, Chouhan said, 'haan main madaari hoon' (Yes, I am the juggler)'. He went on to say that he played the 'damru' and the bills came down to zero. 

However, after his statement, Chouhan's statement went viral on social media. The opposition lapped it up. Soon it was trending on social media, particularly, Twitter. The hashtag, Madari Mamu, (in Hindi text मदारीमामू, not English) was trending high. 

Of late, Chouhan has announced the scheme to waive of outstanding power bills of poor. He has also said that the state government will withdraw the cases that were registered for power theft. 

Congress' state chief Kamal Nath had taken a dig at him for his series of announcements just before the polls. Today, the CM's statement was in response to this criticism. However, it not only delighted the opposition, mama's rhetoric had Twitterati in splits.
