Bhopal: Congress has fielded Pratap Singh Uikey as its candidate for the forthcoming Ghoradongri bypoll.
Now it's a straight fight between Uikey and Mangal Singh Dhurve, the BJP's candidate.
BJP had already announced the name of its candidate. The Congress announced Uikey's name on Monday.
Uikey has been a former minister of state in Digvijaya Singh's cabinet.
Ghoradongri is located in Betul district. The seat fell vacant after the sitting MLA Sajjan Singh Uikey died. This necessitated the by-poll.
There were speculations that BJP would give ticket to its sitting legislator's wife, but later Mangal Singh managed to get support from the BJP MP.
