Five-year-old raped, murdered in Madhya Pradesh, angry residents set afire house

BHOPAL: A five-year-old girl was raped, later murdered and her body was found abandoned near the railway track.

This horrific crime took place in Madhya Pradesh. The accused--Deepak Kirar alias Nanhu, 21, has been arrested.

The accused had lured the girl with the promise of toffee, took her along on his cycle to an abandoned place and raped her, said police.

The incident occurred in Piparia in Hoshangabad, and it caused unprecedented anger in the town. People took to streets, shut shops and resorted to violence. 

They also set afire the house of his kin. The girl had been strangulated her to death and body was thrown in the bushes near the railway track. After the girl went missing, police had registered a case and began investigation.

The CCTV footage had captured the images of the youth taking away the girl. The child's body was found on Sunday. Subsequently, there was anger on the streets.

The suspect--Deepak was hiding at a relative's house in another town and was caught. In fact, he had been released from jail recently. Irate residents laid siege to the police station. 

The police resorted to lathi-charge. Markets remained shut in Piparia on Sunday. Also, there is a call to keep markets closed on Monday too.

The officials have assured people that stern action would be taken against the rape accused.The accused has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act apart from murder.
