BHOPAL: Former chief minister and state Congress president Kamal Nath has said that distribution of life-saving injection Remdesivir is being done on a preferential basis.

It is being given to the BJP workers, he said. Nath also alleged that most of the people who indulged in black marketing of remdesivir are BJP workers.

Nath interacted with media after taking feedback from Congress district presidents and other senior office-bearers on Thursday.

Also, he challenged CM Shivraj Chouhan to 'show a single hospital in Madhya Pradesh that doesn’t have shortage of oxygen, medicines, beds and ambulance'. ‘CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan called me few days back requesting for help. Then a senior IAS officer sought my help to obtain oxygen tanker,’ said Nath.

"The company that had refused supplying oxygen tankers to the state government, however, agreed after I made the request. I talked to managers of Cipla and Sun Pharma companies and they gave 3 tankers within 24 hours on my request, said the former chief minister".

Why can’t the State government do it? What are the bureaucrats doing at the State secretariat when no other works are being done right now. In fact, they should be deputed to the offices of pharma companies supplying oxygen and medicines to ensure proper supply, said Kamal Nath.

The state government should have arranged for proper stock of remdesivir injections and oxygen after warning of second wave but the government was busy in elections. Who is responsible for the present crisis, public knows it well now, added former CM.

This is nothing than criminal negligence, said Nath. Nath attacked Shivraj saying that he had warned the CM that appropriate arrangements should be made after warning of second wave. Covid care centers should be made in government buildings but he didn’t pay heed.

"The Bhopal Memorial Hospital is lying unused at this moment of crisis, he added. India has to take help from Pakistan and Bangladesh. Schools colleges are closed but politics and elections rallies continued. Death figures are fudged. He also said that the feedback from district says testing results are coming after 2-3 days.
