Congress has taken strong exception to the disciplinary action taken againt a collector for his Facebook post.

MP Youth Congress chief Kunal Choudhary has written a letter to chief secretary Anthony de Sa in the wake of disciplinary action against former collector Ajay Gangwar for his Facebook post.

Choudhary has said that speaking in favour of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru is neither a crime nor an act of insubordination, yet action was taken and Gangwar was removed.

In the letter, Chaudhary has written that administration is being run in such a manner in Madhya Pradesh that criminals, communal elements and sycophant officers have made a nexus.

“The CS should not act as CM’s political agent”, he wrote.

“While mineral mafia and sand mafia has been attacking officers and honest employees are being harassed, sycophant and corrupt officers are being promoted”, he mentions in the letter.

Choudhary further writes that two chief secretaries in the past failed to curb this trend and it has picked up even more in this (de Sa’s) tenure. “The CAG report clearly shows how corrupt bureaucracy has hurt MP’s economy”.

“While state is reeling under severe drought, you fail to get relief to citizens. Even Supreme court’s orders were not implemented properly but honest officers are being targeted and harassed to make political masters happy”.

Choudhary has said that the chief of state bureaucracy should  take action in accordance with his duties and responsibilities and not act on wrong orders of the political dispensation. “If an officer  speaks truth, why should he face action”, he wrote.
