CBI files charge-sheets in Vyapam cases, Bihar impersonators named in PMT exam scam

BHOPAL: The central brueau of investigation (CBI) filed charge-sheets in two separate Vyapam cases on Monday.

The charge-sheets that name 10 persons as accused, were filed in the courts at Indore and Bhopal.

These are the first charge-sheets filed by CBI after it took over the cases from Special Task Force (STF) of MP police, which had earlier probed these cases.

The first charge-sheet was filed against nine persons who are accused of fraud, forgery, criminal conspiracy and sections of MP Recognised Examinations Act. The charge-sheet was filed in the court of special judge for Vyapam cases in Bhopal court.

This case was initially registered by Gautam Nagar police station in Bhopal. During CBI investigation it was found that three impersonatos from Bihar had appeared in place of the candidates with the help of middle-men. Two other accused were not traced during MP police probe and CBI later located them.

In the second case, charge-sheet was filed under sections of fraud, foregery and MP Recognised Examination Act in connection with irregularities in pre-medical test (PMT).

This case was originally registered at Sanyogitaganj police station in Indore. Later, CBI had taken it over. After investigation, the charge-sheet was filed in an Indore court.
