BHOPAL: Congress member of parliament (MP) Jyotiraditya Scindia on Wednesday said that the BJP government talked of 'Congress-mukt Bharat' but the atrocities on SC-ST suggest that it wants a 'Dalit-Tribal mukt Bharat'.
Speaking to journalists in Bhopal, he launched an attack on Shivraj government and said that the entire system has collapsed in Madhya Pradesh. "The state is performing poorly on key social indicators. Hospitals are in bad shape, schools are without teachers and there is no new industry despite huge claims".
Sincida said that government employees are also under attack by ruling party leaders and there is rarely proper action. He said that 47% kids suffer from malnutrition and there is no proper vision for development.
"MP is now lagging behind Bihar, Odisha and many other states on social indicators". The Guna MP said that atrocities on Dalits-Tribials across India like the Una incident in Gujarat, suggest that the BJP wants 'Dalit-Adiwasi mukt Bharat'.
He cited an advertisement by a BJP leader in which 'Adiwasi unmoolan' was printed during Modi's recent visit for a rally in MP. The BJP had later said that it was a misprint and 'unnayan' (uplift) was to be printed but mistakenly 'unmoolan' (eradication) was printed. The press conference was organised at Hotel Noor-us-Sabah in Bhopal.
Scindia said that while BJP had failed to provide jobs to youth, the price rise is hurting the common man and situation in Jammu & Kashmir has deteriorated. On a question about the Assembly polls in 2018, he said that Congress should soon come up with a blueprint on policies.
He said that Global Investment Summits (GIS) were big failures and no major industry has come to State. Also, he said that MP has the ignominous record of topping the country in the number of rapes. "Farmers are suffering but the government pays no attention, which is a shame".
Targeting the Narendra Modi-led BJP government, Scindia said that 2 crore jobs were promised annually but not even 2% of the figure could materialise. "What we are witnessing today is a result of a marriage of inconvenience between PDP and BJP". He said that while Kashmir was under curfew, PM was silent for over a month.
"This is the government that let ISI enter Pathankot airbase. Such is the sad state of affairs when it comes to internal security", he further said. On Vyapam probe, he said that he was hopeful that the guilt won't be spared. "The Supreme Court has chided the CBI over the delay and the lackadaisal investigation, recently".
