BHOPAL: A large number of Muslims attended the 'Roza iftar' hosted at Chief Minister's residence on Sunday.
Leading Muslim clerics including Shahar Qazi and large number of residents participated in the 'iftaar'.
CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan welcomed the guests in the CM House. Apart from BJP state president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan, BJP leaders and some ministers were also present.
Apart from Bhopal, Muslim religious leaders from Indore, Ujjain and other cities had also arrived for the event. The Chief minister offered dates to the clerics for breaking the fast.
Later, the devout prayed and sought peace and prosperity for the state and the country. Chouhan has organised religious events of all faiths in CM House.
Though iftaar was organised in the past too, the tradition to celebrate festivals of other religions was started by Chouhan. Major festivals or religious events of all communities are celebrated annually.
