Bhopal: The state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit has retained the name of outgoing member Anil Madhav Dave and included former state minister Kailash Vijayvargiya’s name in a 12 member panel for Rajya Sabha nominations.
Following a meeting of selection committee held at state BJP headquarters on Thursday, the 12-name panel was sent across to the central leadership for finalization of name.
The BJP is seeking to contest all three Rajya Sabha seats in MP that are falling vacant shortly. Apart from Dave, Chandan Mitra and Congress’ Vijay Laxmi Sadho are retiring. The Congress would hope to retain its seat.
Among the name included in the panel, according to BJP sources, are Vikram Verma (former union minister), Raghunandan Sharma, Krishna Murari Moghe, Ramkrishna Kusmaria, Bhagwat Sharan Mathur, Vinod Gothia, Banshilal Gurjar, Dheeraj Pateria and Deepak Vijayvargiya.
The state selection committee decided to include all prominent names that came up before it for finalization.
