NAGPUR: The All India Muslim OBC Organisation Trust has demanded a high-level probe and stern action against the culprits involved in the conspiracy to sell 15 acres waqf land in Maharashtra.

'The waqf land along with Badi Masjid at Shatranjipura, was sold through conspiracy and a person associated with Waqf Board was involved in this act. Though Waqf land can't be sold, however, a resolution was passed and the deal took place.

Now, the person involved in it, has been booked in another case. Action must be taken against culprits involved in this level of fraud', said Shabbir Ansari, who heads the All India Muslim OBC Organisation Trust. 'After the issue was raised the person was removed from Waqf Board.

But the issue is that the people who are hand in glove, who are known to be involved in frauds, and yet they get away, must face action. We have urged the State government to conduct a high-level probe and promptly take action', he said. Ansari said that he has written to the Chief Minister in this regard. "We have also written to Collector, Nagpur", he added.

The Trust has also given memorandum to Home minister, and said that case must be registered against all those who were part of the conspiracy and this land deal. Regarding the status of the land, Ansari said that 'once a land is waqf property, it can't be sold, it will remain waqf land for ever'.
