'Digital platforms not only a medium of expression, but effective force for social change'

 BHOPAL: A special program was organized on June 30 at the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal to commemorate thr World Social Media Day.
On this occasion, dialogue and discussion focused on the current role, utility and social impact of digital media.
The chief guest of the program was Anil Gulati, Chief of Field Office (a.i.) UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that "digital platforms today are not only a medium of expression, but have also become an effective force for social change.
He spoke about a healthy diets campaign and urged all social media influencers present to take the message forward on their channels.
Pushpa Awasthi, Nutrition Specialist was present as a special guest and shared her views on spreading nutrition and health awareness through social media. On the theme of Meri Thali Sehat, she said that our health should start from the plate so that we always remain healthy. If children eat healthy food from childhood, then their immunity increases in two years and their development happens rapidly which continues further. Therefore, it is the responsibility of all of us to take care of our food and our health.
During the program, Rajesh Bhatt of Akashvani Bhopal while talking about the coordination of traditional and digital media, said that "radio and social media together can create new dimensions of public communication."
Director Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahlay Amitabh Pandey said in his statement that "social media has taken our cultural heritage to the global level. It is a medium that is acting as a bridge in connecting museums to the common people."
Shivani Rajput, Social media professional shared how we can use social media to spread positivity.
On this occasion, many experts associated with social media and digital content creation registered their presence, which included: Saurabh Awasthi, Administration Officer AIR, Siddharth Jain, Anchor, Amandeep Singh, Podcast and Content Creator, film maker Pinky Tiwari, RJ Anadi, instagrammers Avi Shukla Udenia, Nidhi Shukla Pandey, Jyoti Dubey, actress, Nayan Rai, the podcaster, Neetu Manwani, Nidhi Rawatiya and anchors of AIR.
All the speakers shared their roles in the promotion, preservation and public awareness of healthy diets through social media. The program saw enthusiastic participation of youth, media personnel and social media influencers.
During this, the digital initiatives of the museum were also showcased, film documentary of Manav Sangrahalaya was shown. The program was conducted by Mohammad Rehan, while at the end, Hemant Bahadur Singh Parihar expressed his gratitude to all the participants and guests and said that the museum will try to connect with the public with more innovations through digital platforms in the future.
