Poster prohibits entry of Muslim vendors in village, case registered

INDORE: A poster that was allegedly put up, annoncing that Muslim vendors (traders) would not be allowed into the village, has led to outrage.

The incident is reported from Pemalpur in Indore district. The photograph of the poster was shared on social media, drawing criticism.

It was mentioned on the poster that the message was from all the residents of the village. Former chief minister Digvijaya Singh tweeted, 'Isn't it illegal....isn't it against PM Modi's appeal....such divisions in the society are against national interests'.

The Indore police have got the poster removed. The officials said that a case has been registered against unidentified persons. However, no one has been arrested in this regard. This is the second such incident in the state in recent months. Earlier, a similar pamphlet had appeared in Borud (Manawar) in Dhar district in March. It was later removed.
