IPS officer terminated, Home ministry orders premature retirement

IPS officer Mayank Jain terminated from service
An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer who was facing corruption charges has been given compulsory retirement.
Mayank Jain, an MP cadre police officer of 1995 batch, was earlier suspended after Lokayukta police raid at his premises. During the raid a few years ago, the sleuths had said that he had amassed property to the tune of around Rs 100 crore. In the past, he was posted in Ratlam when police were accused of large-scale excesses on women. Now, the Home ministry has given him premature retirement. [Bhopal, August 17 NewsBits.in]
