Platform ticket for Rs 50 at Bhopal, Habibganj railway stations in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: Platform ticket would be available at the price of Rs 50 at two important railway stations--Bhopal and Habibganj in Madhya Pradesh.
The officials have said that the decision to raise the price was taken in order to check over-crowding at the railway stations ahead of summer. Also, this is in view of Coronavirus protocol.
In fact, the price was raised earlier but train operation was closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Now, the platform ticket sale would start again and at a raised rate.
The price was earlier Rs 10. Apart from Bhopal and Habibganj, the price has been raised to Rs 20 at many other railway stations. They include They include Itarsi, Vidisha, Hoshangabad, Harda, Sant Hirdaram Nagar i.e. Bairagarh, Ganj Basoda, Bina, Guna and Shivpuri.
Over 10,000 platform tickets were sold daily in the past at Bhopal railway station, alone. Railway officials hope that with train operations resuming there wouldn't over-crowding. However, residents and railway users aren't too happy with this decision to raise the price, manifold.
