Man falls in love with two women, marries both at a wedding function in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR: In a bizarre incident, a man married two women at a time after he fell in love with both of them.
Chandu Maurya had a love affair with two girls at a time. Surprisingly, the girls were also aware of it and decided that he should marry both of them.
Hence, after consent of the three families, the marriage was fixed. In one 'mandap, the groom sat with the two brides--one on either side and the rituals were performed.
This marriage was held at Tikara Lohnga in Bastar, the southern part of Chhattisgarh. Local residents also attended the marriage and some even called it 'historic', according to reports. After the wedding, the trio would stay together, do farming and stay happy, the reports add.

A man had recently married two girls at a time in Madhya Pradesh also. Though, bigamy or polygamy is unlawful, with certain exceptions. Tribal customs and certain region(s) are also exempted. Besides, unless there is an aggrieved party or a person complaining, it doesn't lead to intervention.
