BHOPAL: Yet another state police service officer has faced action for crossing swords with RSS workers.

This time Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Jhabua, Rakesh Vyas, has borne the brunt.

Vyas, a DSP rank official, has been shifted to Indore and attached to IG's office.

The action has come after demonstrations were held in Petlawad and Jhabua, demanding action against the police officials for booking RSS workers.

This is the second such incident when MP police top brass has buckled under RSS pressure and has taken action against an officer. A similar incident had occurred in Balaghat too recently.

Half-a-dozen police officers including an Additional SP, the inspector and other policemen were booked and suspended in Balaghat. They were accused of thrashing a RSS leader in Baihar police station.

Subsequently, action was taken. In Jhabua, police had taken action after there was tension during religious processions. Hindu Jagran Manch and RSS workers claimed that their workers were beaten.

They organised protest marches and gave call for bandh in both the cities. It was demanded that the cases should be withdrawn and the arrested workers be released immediately.

Also, the police had got the protests video-graphed and later registered fresh FIR for the demonstrations. This had angered RSS workers even more. Initially, state government seemed to be reluctant in taking action. But today the SDOP has been removed.
